A minimum of eight games will be aired as part of the Gateway Football Conference television package in 2004. Included in the package this year are two non-conference games, and one game on the CSTV “National I-AA Game of the Week” package.

The league opens its 2004 schedule with a non-conference game between preseason Gateway favorite Southern Illinois and Ohio Valley Conference member Southeast Missouri State in an OVC-GFC Challenge Series game. Southern Illinois defeated Southeast Missouri State, 28-7, last year. SIU is the most-featured Gateway team in 2004 with three appearances on regional or national television, as the Salukis will also appear in a Sept. 11 telecast on Fox Sports Net (at Northern Illinois) and an Oct. 2 telecast on CSTV (vs. UNI).

For the sixth-straight season, the Gateway Football Conference is coordinating an in-house television package. The games will be produced for syndication on over-the-air and cable television stations throughout the Midwest. A number of those games will air on Fox Sports Net Midwest and additional Fox Sports Net affiliates, including Fox Sports Ohio and Fox College Sports.
